This 4 day tour to the Blanche Marie Waterfalls in Suriname runs with 4-wheel drive cars through unspoiled rainforest to one of Suriname’s most beautiful and largest waterfalls. A visit to the indigenous village Washabo, is on the program. The impressive Blanche Marie Falls are more than 300 km southwest of Paramaribo. It is one of the largest waterfalls in Suriname with a massive water displacement. The impressive waterfall stretches over 120 meters and is located in highland, the best kind of tropical rainforest. On this tour to the Blanche Marie waterfalls all ingredients of the Amazon Rainforest are to be found, among which are the 8 Surinamese monkey species and over 200 bird species.

From Paramaribo we will depart to the direction of J. Pengel International Airport. , it is possible to stop if desired for taking photos and eating sandwiches and drinks. During the tour there is a chance that you will see several exotic animals such as monkeys, sloths, deer, turtles, lizards and various birds: parrots, macaws, birds trumpet, powisies (the bird that was formerly used to smuggle gold), etc.
After the International Airport we pass a number of indigenous villages and continue our way to Witagron, a Maroon village, where we stop for a visit combined with a lunch break. After this stop we begin the second part of the journey that takes us over several creeks and bridges through the forest to Apoera (an indigenous village on the western border with Guyana). Here we will spend the night.

After breakfast, we will visit the train of “Somewhere to Nowhere”, then we continue on our way to the indigenous villages: Small Kwamala and Washabo, where we have a village walk and you can get acquainted with the culture of the Arawaks and the Trio’s, two indigenous tribes. After lunch along the Corantijn River, where you can enjoy the views over the border of Guyana, we make a boat trip to the creek Kaburi known for its beautiful scenery and giant otters.
In the afternoon we return enjoying the scenery back to Apoera. After dinner, socializing.

After breakfast we depart to the waterfalls of Blanche Marie, in the bus, a presentation is given on the flora and fauna and you can contemplate the fast rapids of the river.
At Blanche Marie you will enjoy the breathtaking view of the falls, it is also possible to sit under one of the falls and be massaged by nature.
You will, like many before you, be amazed where all that falling down spring water comes from.
It is possible to sit under some of the falls and just enjoy. The night will be spend at Blanche-Marie.

After breakfast we leave for the trip back to Paramaribo.
